THOMAS HENRY EDWARDS

Was the son of Thomas Henry Edwards and Margaret (nee McCaughran), he was born on the 10th March 1896 at 24 Moffatt Road, Aintree.

At the time of the 1911 census the Edwards family was living at 5 Kingswood Avenue, Walton. Thomas junior was working as a moulder and his father was an iron dresser. Thomas Edwards senior died in 1911 and his widow married Robert Arthur Pendleton at St Mary’s C.of E. Church, Walton in 1913.

Thomas Henry’s service records have survived. They show he was living at 10 Bakewell Grove, Aintree and employed as a coremaker when he joined the South Lancashire Regiment at Liverpool on the 8th September 1914.
